St. Mullins

A few miles down the River Barrow on foot, bike, boat or car lies St. Mullins, a gorgeous monastic settlement packed full of history and beauty. Climb the Norman motte and see the remains of Saint Moling’s sixth-century monastery, the fascinating graveyard with its unusual tombstones and the remnants of a medieval village. In the visitor’s centre, learn about area’s history and many legends and tall tales.
