River Activities
The River Barrow is the beating heart of Graiguenamanagh and the reason why the town is here in the first place. The town is very popular with boating enthusiasts and we’ve been holding an August Bank Holiday regatta since 1857 when the river comes alive with competing rowers, cot racers, swimmers and divers.
Charlie Horan of Go With The Flow has been offering river adventures since 1996, giving people the opportunity to glide along the beautiful Barrow valley and rush down its weirs and rapids in a canoe. The company operates to the highest safety standards, so it’s an activity that’s suitable for families, hens/stags, and other groups. Go With The Flow is known throughout Ireland for its canoe trips and river trekking on the Barrow, so it’s an activity not to be missed!
Pure Adventure operating from the quay in Graiguenamanagh offers Stand-Up Paddleboarding on the river as well as kayaking/canoeing too. If you fancy some sea air and travelling further afield, Pure Adventure also provides sea-kayaking trips along the Waterford coast, just an hour down the road.
If you’re in the mood for something a little gentler, Eoin Bolger’s Riverboat Adventures operates from the quay in Graiguenamanagh. There are few, if any, better ways to see the area.
