he picturesque nine-hole Borris Golf Club is just a ten-minute drive from Graiguenamanagh. The mature parkland course was founded in 1907 and offers pretty views of the stately Borris House, the scenic granite village of Borris with its handsome viaduct, and the Blackstairs Mountain.
The Jeff Howes-designed course at Gowran Park is fifteen minutes from us, and many of the holes run inside the famous Gowran Park racecourse! The Par 71 course provides a challenge to low handicappers while still offering mid-to-high handicappers an enjoyable round.
One of Ireland’s best-known courses, Mount Juliet, is a short sixteen-minute drive from Graiguenamanagh. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course sits in the leafy, rolling surroundings of the Mount Juliet estate near Thomastown, and has been home to the Irish Open four times, and twice home to World Golf Championship events. It was voted the best parkland course in Ireland by Backspin magazine in 2008 and 2010. A round at Mount Juliet is a must for any keen golfer. Dinner in the Michelin-starred Lady Helen restaurant on the estate is surely the only way to top-off a perfect day of golf.
